Both Crossfire 93 and Crossfire 94 Blue boys teams took home medals from the ACYSO Pre-Labor Day Cup last weekend.

Playing their first tournament as a Division I team, the Crossfire 93 advanced to the tournament final, in a thrilling match against the San Angelo FC 92 Boys.  After Crossfire took a 1-0 halftime lead, the match saw four goals in the last 20 minutes.  With for minutes left, San Angelo squeezed a goal in to take the 1st place trophy with a 3-2 win.  Crossfire 93 had beaten San Angelo 1-0 in a round robin match.  Crossfire 93 went 2-0-1 in the round robin matches and did not concede a goal.  Blake Rogers posted 3 shutouts and Anthony Swain scored 3 goals.

Crossfire 94 Blue rolled to a 4-0-0 record, capturing first place in their bracket. Playing in a mixed group of U15 and U16 teams, Crossfire 94 scored 12 goals and conceded zero.  Cody Hollingshead posted all four shutouts.  Strong marking by the Crossfire defenders left Hollingshead with only four shots on goal to defend all tournament.  Jeisson Boriack led the scorers with 3 goals, while Gabe Sanchez scored two goals and added three assists.

Both Crossfire 93 and Crossfire 94 Blue return to action next weekend at the Austin Labor Day Cup.

After winning the Austin/San Antonio Director's Cup bracket, the Crossfire 95 Blue boys team continued its winning ways with a second place finish in the Director's Cup Western District playoffs in Harlingen, Texas.  With this result, Crossfire 95 Blue advanced to the state finals.

The Crossfire Blue boys were equal to the challenge at the state finals. In a 5 team bracket, the Crossfire finished 1-1-2 with 18 points.  This put them in a three way tie for second, trailing the champion squad by only 3 points.  The highlight of the tournament was the 3-0 win over the El Paso Dynamo -- the only 10 point performance of the age group!  Congratulations to these boys for a great showing!

In the fall, the Crossfire 95 Blue finished second in state at the Division II championships.  Crossfire 95 Blue is coached by David Springer and Omar Garcia, and trained by George Ley.

Crossfire Soccer Club congratulates its three teams advancing in their respective Cup competitions.

Crossfire 95 Blue - Congratulations to the Crossfire 95 Blue team, coached by David Springer and Omar Garcia.  95 Blue is trained by George Ley.  The 95 Blue team, which was playing recreational soccer just a year ago, followed up their fall state runner-up showing with a step up to Directors Cup.  The tougher competition again brought out the best in the boys.  Crossfire 95 Blue won the WD bracket of Directors Cup, finishing with a record of 7-1-0 and a goal differential of +26.  The 95 Blue team scored at least three goals in each of its wins and posted three shutouts on the season.  They advance to playoffs against the Rio Grande Valley representatives to determine final slots for the state tournament.  Congratulations to the players and coaches on another great season!

Crossfire 94 Boys - The Crossfire 94 boys team finished with a 4-1-0 record to claim the top spot in the CAYSA bracket of the South Texas Cup competition.  Crossfire 94 was a completely new team this year, and follows up their fall Western District appearance with another Western District invite for South Texas Cup.  Crossfire 94 is coached by Scott Placek and trained by George Ley.

95 Lady Crossfire - The 95 Lady Crossfire squad finished 5-2-1 to claim the second CAYSA seed in the U14 South Texas Cup competition.  This will be the 95 Ladies first trip to Western District play.  Congratulations to these players on reaching this goal.  95 Lady Crossfire is coached by Mike Capetillo.
